Curriculum
Over four-years, students gain high-end strategic and thinking skills informed by research, to help them create innovative and refined visual design solutions to meet the needs of industry. Students are mentored by experts via industry-focused workshops and encouraged to build strong industry networks through an embedded industry placement component (available to international and local students), work in the Swinburne Design Factory, or participation in industry projects.
This is a highly relevant degree. It equips students with the necessary skills to engage effectively in industry and offers greater opportunities for engagement in research. Students produce a portfolio that reflects a focused approach to design thinking and practice, positioning them to shape the future of contemporary design practice. Through the course’s strong links with industry, graduates are well placed to seek employment in advanced areas of communication design.
Students are encouraged to participate in study tours and international exchange programs to broaden their understanding of design in a global context.
