For added flexibility, the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode allows students to pursue studies off-campus. IMU’s curriculum meets stringent international standards and the accreditation requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The programme is also accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), the world’s leading chemistry community and the oldest chemical society globally.

Các ứng viên được yêu cầu phải đạt được:
- Tất cả học sinh thường được yêu cầu cung cấp bằng chứng về khả năng của họ trong ngôn ngữ tiếng Anh để học tập tại IMU.
- Các yêu cầu về trình độ tiếng Anh chuẩn thường là tổng điểm IELTS 6.5 hoặc TOEFL 550 (PBT) hoặc 79 (IBT) hoặc MUET nhóm 4.
